James Jacobs, Winds Instructor

 

Joining the Riverview Band Program for the 2024–2025 school year, James Jacobs has been involved in marching arts, whether performer or instructor, for twenty two years and has performed with some of the most prestigious ensembles in the country.

Mr, Jacobs began his teaching career at St. Lucie West Centennial High School as the Visual Director/Design Consultant from 2006–2008. He proceeded to join the Martin County High School staff as Visual Director/Design Consultant from 2008–2012. In the winter of 2012, Mr. Jacobs was offered the position as Visual Director at Jensen Beach High School and was employed there through 2018. In 2014, Mr. Jacobs had taken on the additional responsibility as Visual Director for South Fork High School where he worked until the completion of the 2017 season. In 2015, Mr. Jacobs joined the design team at Weeki Wachee High School. He continued as a Design Consultant and Visual Supervisor with Weeki Wachee High School until 2020. During his tenure with Weeki Wachee, the program grew into state finalists.

Mr. Jacobs was a member of the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps in 2006. Mr. Jacobs finished his Drum Corps International career as a member of Teal Sound in 2009 performing on baritone. Also in 2009, Mr. Jacobs joined the Florida Brass Drum and Bugle Corps and spent seven years as a lead baritone with the organization.
