Recap: Durant West Coast Invitational
This past weekend the Blue Coat Regiment made their 2016 competition premiere in Plant City at Durant High School’s West Coast Invitational, a sanctioned Florida Marching Band Coalition regional.
The Regiment began their Saturday with a three hour rehearsal at Riverview’s football stadium before making their way to Durant for their official warm-up time and their 6:15pm performance.
Unfortunately, shortly after the Regiment’s performance the weather took a turn for the worse and brought in thunder storms, shuttering all but one of the 4A bands and the entirety of the 5A division.
Of the thirteen bands that were able to compete, the Regiment placed fifth overall and third in their 3A division with a score of 69.8. The band’s percussion section placed third overall, and the color guard took home fourth.
A full recap of the night’s scores can be found here.
The Regiment competes again at the 20th annual King High School Lion’s Pride on Saturday, October 15.
