Riverview Hosts Inaugural Pageantry Arts Honor Society Induction Ceremony

In another historic evening for the Riverview Band Program, six members of the Blue Radiance Color Guard were inducted into the school’s inaugural chapter of the Pageantry Arts Honor Society (PAHS). Founded by the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC), PAHS exists to recognize the outstanding growth and achievement of students participating in performing arts through pageantry in the color guard activity.

The school’s six inaugural members were seniors Annabelle Caraway, Makenzie Cebollero, Emma Planchet and Krista Walker, with juniors Erika Navarrete and Holly Vetter.

The ceremony included a candle lighting element, with a candle lit for each of the four pillars of PAHS: artistry, community, leadership and academics. Students were also given the chance to speak about what a certain pillar meant to them.

Hosting the ceremony and the club’s sponsor was Color Guard Program Director Suzanne Mason. Joining Mrs. Mason were staff members Director of Instrumental Music John Davis, Band Program Manager Cameron Solomon and Staff Director Emeritus Travis Miller. Also in attendance were Booster Board officers President Tanya Cebollero, Vice President Dawn Walker and Color Guard Liaison Elizabeth Navarrete who worked with Mrs. Mason and the FFCC to launch the new chapter, and Riverview Principal Brian Spiro.
