COVID-19 Guidelines
Rehearsals will all take place on campus, however due to COVID-19 we will be under strict guidelines set forth by the district, Florida Department of Health and the CDC. At this time, students will be required to wear masks when they are not playing their instrument. Each student will need to provide their own water and snacks; we will not be able to provide a water station at this time. Hand soaps, hand sanitizers and cleaning wipes will be provided to students throughout practice. All personal items must be taken home after each practice.
Summer Attendance Policy
Summer band days are used to help acclimate students with the transition from middle school to a competitive high school band, so we strongly encourage all students to attend. The world of high school band is especially fast-paced and
new material can take a while to learn, particularly new students. That said, attendance at these days is not strictly mandatory, but we ask that you please try to accommodate your schedules to be present—especially for new members.
Trust us, it will only benefit you to be present!
Band camp dates are important. Spots in the show are assigned to students who are at band camp, so every effort should be made to allow your student to attend all days. If your child must be absent from a band camp date please get in touch with Mr. Davis as soon as possible to clear the absence and ensure your child’s spot is accounted for in our show. If we haven’t heard from you or your child, and there is an unexcused absence, your child’s spot may be given to another student. Act now to reserve your child’s position in the marching band!
