Wrapping Up Band Camp 2015

Over the last two weeks students of the Blue Coat Regiment Marching Band have been hard at work - from learning the basics of marching and reinforcing 16th note runs in our music, to helping each other apply sunscreen and tossing quads on rifle.

“Our students have worked tremendously hard this week and it has paid off with great dividends,” said Mr. Miller, Band Program Staff Director. “I would like to thank our staff and Booster Board for their efforts in making this year’s camp the best Riverview has seen.”

“In one week the kids learned 18 pages of drill, something that’s almost unheard of, especially given the awful weather we had to deal with,” said Mr. B, Director of Instrumental Music. “Not only have they marched those pages, but the winds have played and moved it, the front ensemble is outside with us and the color guard has incorporated their choreography, as well. To say I’m proud is an understatement.”

The students ended band camp on Saturday with our annual Dinner with the Director - a chance for the students’ families to see the kids perform what they’ve learned, enjoy some great food and fellowship and meet their hard working band staff and Booster Board.

Saturday was also our section vs. section day. Take a look at the photos above! Who do you think should win best section? Let us know in the comments!

Thanks to Michelle Bradshaw for the photos!
