2016 Indoor Season Comes to a Close
This past weekend the Riverview Color Guard Program concluded their 2016 indoor season with their performance in the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit Championships.
The team took the floor of the Daytona Ocean Center on Sunday to present their program “Falling,” one last time.
When the night was over the team placed 9th in the Shaktai Division of Class A with a score of 75.65—which marks a 23-point improvement over the entire season.
Before the big day came on Sunday, the team and staff spent Saturday relaxing and bonding—with go-karts, mini golf and ice cream!
“This season has been a huge undertaking for the team,” said Mr. Rios, Color Guard Director. He continued, “Seeing these girls grow from a AAA team last year and now as an A team has truly been a blessing. We say it all the time, but I am so phenomenally proud of them. They have worked so hard this year.”
Mr. Miller, Band Program Staff Director and Color Guard Program Manager commented, “For me the highlight of the season was being able to expose the girls to teams from outside the state with our performance at the WGI Southeastern Championships. I think it was incredibly eyeopening for them and it motivated them to push themselves even harder than they have before.”
A huge thanks to all of our girls, our staff and our parent volunteers for all you did to make this season as success! Up next the girls have their recital on Thursday, May 27 at 7:00pm in the Riverview High School Ron Wardlow Gymnasium.
