2016 Solo & Ensemble

Yesterday the Riverview Band Program broke a record at the Florida Bandmasters Association District 7 Solo & Ensemble Music Performance Assessment. Friday evening the Band Program had 10 entries - 9 solos and our brass quintet - participate in this annual event that showcases individual students and their musical abilities and accomplishments.

Of the 10 entries, 9 were rated “superior” and the other an “excellent!” 8 of the 9 superior-rated performances will be moving on to State Solo & Ensemble at Mariner High School in March. Performances are eligible for State if they are a grade 5 or higher, and all but 1 of the 10 entries were.

“I could not be more proud of our students for all of their hard work they put in to preparing these pieces,” said Mr. B, Director of Instrumental Music. He continued, “These students stayed after school and practiced almost every day in addition to learning our literature the Wind Ensemble is playing for Concert MPA. Way to go guys!”
