Recap: King High Lion’s Pride
The Blue Coat Regiment performed at their second competition of the season at King High School for the 20th annual Lion’s Pride—and what a performance it was!
A total of 25 bands competed across four divisions, red, white, blue and gold, with the Blue Coats competing in the white division. This competition is not a regional affiliated with the Florida Marching Band Coalition, so the scoring and awards are structured differently.
Superior ratings were awarded to bands in the captions of auxiliary (color guard), percussion and drum major. Riverview was named best in division for all three of these captions, and was the only one of 11 bands in the division to earn this rating in all three captions.
Overall the Regiment scored a 90.3, which earned them not only an overall superior rating, but also best in their division and 3rd place overall, with Lakeland High School and Sickles High School taking 1st and 2nd respectively.
A big congratulations to our kids and thank you to our staff, volunteers and families for supporting all of our efforts!!
The Regiment competes again in just one week at the Braden River Invitational at Braden River High School in Bradenton.
