The Blue Coat Regiment returned to the Florida Marching Band Coalition circuit this weekend as they competed at the Braden River Invitational.

This was the band’s second time performing at the school since Braden River hosted the FMBC State Semi-Finals back in 2009, and they sure left their mark!

The Regiment scored an 83.1 that evening, which earned them 1st in class 3A along with winning best visual, best general effect and best percussion. The color guard not only won best in class, but they also had the highest score overall of the 10 competing bands.

To cap everything off, the Blue Coats’ score not only had them named Runner-Up Grand Champion, they also earned a block score for this year’s FMBC State Semi-Finals, which places them in the top of three tiers of bands who will compete for the state’s top prize come November 12. This marks the first time in Riverview’s 18 year history that the marching band has earned a block score.

Congratulations to all of our students, staff and volunteers who make everything happen!
