Remembering Angie Slater

The Band Program family extends its condolences, thoughts and prayers to the Slater family today: Coach Angie Slater passed away after her year-long battle with cancer. Coach Slater was Riverview’s first softball coach and started her career with the Sharks when the school opened in 1998. Coach Slater led the team all the way to two state championships in 2000 and 2002, and was the runner-up in 2003. Coach Slater’s career had an impressive record of over 500 victories.

Coach Slater lived to serve her players, her students, her school and her community and was an inspiration to all she interacted with, both on and off the field. She will be missed beyond measure.
