Victory at the Seminole Sound Spectacular
The Blue Coat Regiment Marching Band took the field for their first competition performance of the season, and they did not disappoint! The Regiment took home second place in Class 4A beating out Venice High School’s Marching Indians, and falling short of Lakewood Ranch’s Marching Mustangs.
The color guard earned the top prize - they took home first place for color guard in their class by a margin of 4 points.
“I was incredibly excited when we heard the caption awards and that our girls had won best color guard for 4A,” said Mr. Miller, who is the Regiment’s Assistant Director and also serves as the Color Guard Program Manager. “My excitement shot through the roof when we learned we had also come in second in 4A.”
“The kids have worked very hard this year and I am excited to see what the rest of the season holds for us,” said Mr. B, Director of Instrumental Music.
The Regiment will have their next performance at their home show, the Tampa Bay Fall Music Games where they will give an exhibition performance after the competing bands have performed. Their next competition performance will be at the Wiregrass Ranch Marching Music Regional Championship.
