Wrapping up the 2015 Tampa Bay Fall Music Games

After a one year bye with the Florida Marching Band Coalition, the Fall Music Games made a successful return to the circuit for the 2015 season. The Riverview Band Program played host to nine bands from throughout the Tampa Bay area, ranging from 2A to 5A, and presented awards for each class in all captions, as well as overall performances.

The Braden River Marching Band of Pirates walked away as the night’s Grand Champions, with the Palmetto Ridge Marching Pride and H. B. Plant Marching Panthers earning First and Second Runner-Up respectively. Proud sponsors of the Riverview Band Program Annette and Darwin Miller of GEM Dry Cleaners were on hand to present the Grand Champion trophy to Braden River - see the photo below!

Band Booster President Marlene Stark had this to say about the event, “I cannot say thank you enough to all who helped make Saturday run so smoothly! Without all your help we could not have made it happen. Some of the parents I have really never met, and to watch them come in and man their station and take over to make things happen just overwhelmed me with feelings. To see you everyone come together and make things happen just really made me grateful.”

Band Program Staff Director and Assistant Marching Band Director Mr. Miller added, “One of my responsibilities with the Band Program is to serve as our Show Coordinator, and I cannot fully express how grateful I am to everybody who made this event such a success. From our Administrative Team of Joel, Michelle and Cameron; our fantastic Booster Board; the incredibly supportive administrators we enjoy at Riverview; and to the parents who gave of their time to make sure students from other schools have a positive and invigorating experience with the marching arts. You all made this event happen and I was truly humbled by your service. It makes me even more excited for hosting Marching MPA on November 7!”
