Wrapping up The March 2021

Yesterday the Band Program hosted its sixth Florida Marching Band Championships regional. Originally the Tampa Bay Fall Music Games, the event was rebranded as The March in 2017 to coincide with the date falling on Veterans Day.

The regional is one of the Band Program’s largest and most successful fundraisers every year and was also host to the FMBC’s first iteration of the International Class when several South American marching bands competed in 2019. For the 2021 competition nine bands from Class 1A, 3A and 4A took to the field at J. Vince Thompson Stadium, including three-time grand champions Braden River High School and one-time grand champions Newsome High School.

In the end, the Marching Mustangs of Lakewood Ranch High School took home the top prize.

The event was a huge success for not only Lakewood Ranch, but the Band Program, as well—the money raised will go towards the band’s final push to State Championships on November 21. We want to thank all of our amazing family volunteers who helps make the entire weekend possible! We could not do it without you!
