Blue Coats Close out 2021 Season in Ocala

This weekend the Blue Coat Regiment participated in the return of the Florida Marching Band State Championships—the first since 2019 and in a brand new venue, the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. In what is normally a venue for equestrian shows and events, this recently renovated complex was transformed into two different arenas for dozens of Florida bands to converge on for State Championships.

Competing in Class 3A, the Blue Coats were one of 18 bands to perform in the Grand Outdoor Arena to a standing room-only crowd.

After their performance the band was able to explore the Expo Center while they waited for awards.

In the end the Blue Coat Regiment earned 12th place in class with a score of 75.65. We are so proud of all our students and their hard work this season—they have pushed through one of the most challenging eras in the Band Program’s history and helped rebuild the band from the COVID-19 pandemic, while always striving for excellence. A huge thank you to our seniors for their leadership (pictured above with Director Mr. Davis) and our staff and Band Booster organization for all they did this season.
