Band Program Announces Robust Concert, Indoor Season for 2022
Today the Riverview Band Program shared its full and comprehensive schedule of performances for its ensembles for the 2022 concert and indoor season. To coincide with the first day back for students for the second semester, the Band Program announced it would be presenting five different ensembles: the Blue Radiance Winter Guard, Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.
Competing with the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit, the winter guard (Scholastic Class AAA) and indoor percussion (Scholastic Marching Class AA) will participate in the traditional season that students, families and spectators are accustomed to, starting with Premiere at the beginning of the season and ending at the familiar Daytona Ocean Center for Circuit Championships. The Band Program will again host its own regional, the Riverview Showcase of Champions, on February 26. Color guard and percussion students will also have a chance to showcase their own special talents on April 26 at the Color Guard, Percussion and Jazz Band Recital.
For concert season, students will have the opportunity to perform with three different ensembles. All students will be members of the Concert Band and will perform at the spring concert on April 21 and with the Riverview Alliance, comprised of students from Rodgers Middle School and Barrington Middle School on May 3. Advanced students who are selected for the Wind Ensemble will perform at the annual Concert Music Performance Assessment (MPA) to receive a formal rating for the school on March 3–5 at Blake High School, and to prepare will have a pre-MPA concert on February 10 and a special feature at the Rodgers MS pre-MPA concert on February 24.
Students who wish to learn more about jazz and improvisational music are able to join the Jazz Band, who will perform April 26 at the recital alongside the color guard and percussion.
