2022: A Year in Review

As we wrap up 2022, the Band Program has so much to look back on with another historic and record-setting year.

  • The Wind Ensemble earned a Straight Superior rating at the annual Florida Bandmasters Association Concert Music Performance Assessment.

  • The Blue Radiance Winter Guard won Riverview High School’s first ever gold medal at the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit Championships—and the winter guard’s third medal in its short nine year history.

  • The Indoor Percussion Ensemble claimed its second bronze medal at FFCC Championships in only its fourth year.

  • Seniors and color guard captains Alexis and Haddie won Riverview’s first medals at the FFCC’s Solo and Duet Championships with their self-choreographed duet taking home silver.

  • The Band Boosters continued their unprecedented growth and support, and elected its largest volunteer board ever with 14 members, all dedicated to supporting and serving our students, staff and families.

  • The Blue Coat Regiment Marching Band earned a Straight Superior rating at FBA Marching MPA, its 10th in school history and 11th consecutive Superior rating.

  • The Blue Coats ended their season taking home the Grand Championship at the Florida Marching Band Championships Kingdom of the Sun Festival at North Marion High School—the marching band’s third time taking the title at an FMBC regional.

  • The Band Program hosted its first annual Winter Fest, an event bringing the magic of the holidays to the Riverview community’s own backyard.

2022 has set the Band Program up for continued success and pushing the tradition of excellence. Be on the lookout for updates for our 2023 concert and indoor season—what we know will be the start go another fantastic year!
