Blue Coat Regiment Makes 2022 Marching Season Competitive Debut

This past weekend the Blue Coat Regiment program, “When the Forest Calls,” for the competitive season at the Florida Marching Band Championships regional competition at Newsome High School, the Newsome Music Festival.

Competing as one of eight bands, and one of three in Class 4A, the Blue Coats were previously scheduled to make their competitive debut at Seminole High School on October 1, but the event was rescheduled due to Hurricane Ian.

As their first notch in the season, the Blue Coats placed second in class and were named the Second Runner-Up Grand Champion with a score of 69.00, earning bronze to Grand Champions Gaither High School and first runner-up William R. Boone High School. The band will perform next on Friday, October 21 away at Strawberry Crest High School and at its home show, the Tampa Bay Fall Music Games, on Saturday, October 22.
