Tampa Bay Fall Music Games Returns to Riverview High School

Originating in 2013, the Riverview Band Program’s first ever Florida Marching Band Championships regional competition was dubbed the Tampa Bay Fall Music Games and existed as such until 2017. In its third year the event fell on Veterans Day, so as a way of honoring the men and women of the armed forces, it was rebranded as The March.

For four more years the competition took place on Veterans Day weekend, so The March marched on. For 2022, the Band Program was given a different date in the middle of the ultra competitive October—so the Tampa Bay Fall Music Games returned.

The 2022 Games was the largest regional competition held at Riverview: 13 bands from throughout the state of Florida, and even one from Georgia, descended upon J. Vince Thompson Stadium vying for the top prize.

At the end of the night, it was the Palmetto Ridge High School Marching Pride that earned the title of Grand Champion, earning a score of 83.35; the Marching Pride also won Best Overall Music and Best Overall Visual.

A big congratulations to all of the visiting bands that attended the Fall Music Games, and a hearty thank you to our students, program staff and Booster Board members and family volunteers for making the event happen!
