Band Program Students to Join Riverview’s National Honor Society

Earlier this week twelve of our students were tapped to join Riverview High School’s National Honor Society, the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students that serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

This year’s inductees who are part of the Band Program include ten sophomores and three juniors: Jake Massena, Morgan Brandt, Brandon Kersey, Megan Murrell, Lia Fisher, Lindsay Cancela, Abby McBride, Sarah Ferguson, Katelyn Andux, Kailey Cancela, Shania Lape, Peyton Toves (not pictured) and Stefanie Wicker (not pictured).

“Many of our officers and student leadership are members of NHS and this new group is no exception to that. I think this highlights not only the Band Program, but our school as a whole and our commitment to our students and raising the future leaders of our communities,” said Mr. Miller, Band Program Staff Director. He continued, “I’m very proud of all of our new inductees. Way to go guys!”

The new members of NHS will be formally inducted at a ceremony in Hawkins Hall at Riverview High School on April 8 at 6:30pm.
